Mid-Level IA/Security Engineer position available in New Orleans, LA.

Position Description:
Utilizes system analysis methods, techniques, and procedures to design and develop secure computer systems according to DoD user requirements. Takes part in the development of overall security solutions focusing on all aspects of hardware, software, telecommunications, and networks. Focus on architecture for system interoperability, portability, scalability, and legacy system support and transition.

Duties:
The security engineer will perform the following duties:
• Perform Phase III and Annual Testing, per DoD 8500 directives, and generate supporting RMF documentation and test reports
• Research vulnerabilities and document corrective measures or possible mitigations to reduce risk.
• Survey and evaluate current security technological trends and technology products
• Document requirements/rationale for security technology products and select best in class
• Analyze requirements and specify use of security technology products in target System and demonstrate use
• Document and implement processes for doing Systems Security Engineering and Proofs-of-Concept
• Test proofs-of-concept and document results for both IS and IT development projects
• Measure and monitor technical performance and security performance of the system and its environment
• Define security architectures per government security standards and requirements
• Research and document security products and conduct trade studies and analysis to determine recommendations

Work Location: SPAWAR Navy Enterprise Data Center, New Orleans

Years’ Experience: 3-5 years

Degree (Desired): Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or other related field from an accredited college or university.
Required Certification(s): CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification as listed in the DoD 8570.01-M for the IAM Level 1

Travel Requirements: Minimal – possible travel to San Diego, CA for COOP activities

Skills and Experience:
The database administrator must have extensive experience with:
• Familiarity with the DoD RMF and DIACAP process
• Knowledge of completing prescribed CAP document format
• Knowledge of DOD security requirements and documentation
• Knowledge of DoD 8500 directives
• Knowledge of security DOD testing process, procedures and execution
• Knowledge of security design and architecture development and review
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and techniques on large enterprise wide information systems
• Familiarity with various COTS vulnerability testing applications including Tenable Network Security’s SecurityCenter and Nessus
• Familiarity with various COTS/GOTS software testing applications including the DISA SCAP Compliance Checker, STIGs, SRRs, Security Checklists, etc.
• Must be a US citizen
